About the Program
In Mathematics for Education, you will develop a broad perspective on teaching and learning mathematics. You study in a tightly knit program with small, group-based courses in which you can work closely with your professors and fellow students. After graduation, you will be well prepared for a rewarding career in mathematics education and be in demand in a market with a shortage of qualified mathematics teachers.
Mathematics for Education can be completed as a BA or a BSc Honours degree. In the BA, you can take electives like economics, business, psychology, or philosophy, and in the BSc, you can take electives like physics, astronomy, biology, or chemistry.
Your teaching qualifications can be earned with a BEd (Bachelor of Education) degree. In the BEd concurrent program, you work towards both your Mathematics for Education and BEd degrees at the same time. In the BEd consecutive program, you complete your math degree and then apply to a BEd program.
